Ugandan Boxer Aldin Muzei Announces Upcoming Farewell Fight After a Gritty Career Across East Africa

After five years in the professional boxing scene, Aldin Muzei, one of Uganda’s gritty featherweight warriors, has officially announced plans for a farewell boxing match, marking the end of a career that saw him square off with tough opponents across Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.

Muzei, who hails from Jinja and has been fighting out of Kampala, made his professional debut in April 2019 at Orange Pub, Nalukolongo, stopping Daku Ssaku in the very first round by knockout. Over the years, he compiled a record of 3 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws, with 2 victories coming by way of knockout.

Despite facing strong opposition and enduring a few setbacks, including a technical draw and a TKO loss to Musuza Hassan at MTN Arena Lugogo, Muzei built a reputation for his resilience, orthodox stance, and ability to go the distance.

His final professional appearance came on May 24, 2024, in Nairobi, where he suffered a fourth-round TKO loss in a rematch with Albert Kimario—whom he had previously fought to a technical draw in 2022.

Now listed as inactive on BoxRec, Muzei recently confirmed to close sources that he is preparing for a farewell bout, which will be officially announced soon. The event is expected to take place in Kampala, where he has earned most of his loyal fan base.

“I’ve given everything to this sport,” Muzei said. “Boxing has taken me places, taught me discipline, and given me a family in the ring. I want to say goodbye to my fans with one final fight — the way I started: strong, focused, and proud.”

While the opponent and venue are yet to be finalized, this upcoming bout will be a celebration of Muzei’s contribution to Ugandan boxing, especially in the featherweight division where he stood toe-to-toe with notable names across the region.

Muzei’s journey may not be lined with titles, but it’s a story of heart, hustle, and homegrown pride — one that has inspired many young fighters from Jinja to Kampala. His farewell fight is set to be more than just a match — it will be a tribute to a boxer who never backed down.
