Kampala, Uganda – Uganda’s boxing talent continues to impress at the 2025 Africa Zone 3 Boxing Championships, with four national pugilists securing spots in the finals, showcasing the country’s growing dominance in the regional boxing scene.
🇺🇬 Mukwaya Edward delivered a commanding performance, defeating Lendoye Arthur of Gabon with a unanimous 5:0 decision, booking his place in the finals.
🇺🇬 Ochien Samuel also advanced confidently, securing a 5:0 victory against Rwanda’s Iraneza Aime, keeping Uganda’s hopes high for a medal finish.
🇺🇬 Ojok Alfred showcased his power and skill with a second-round RSC (Referee Stopped Contest) win over Tanzania’s Joseph Sylvester, ensuring his spot in the finals.
🇺🇬 Nakalema followed suit with a 5:0 victory against Lusamba Mbayo of the Democratic Republic of Congo, adding another name to Uganda’s finalists list.
Despite the success, Uganda also experienced tough losses in the semi-finals. 🇺🇬 Tabula Emma fell 5:0 to Cameroon’s Nvogou Amougou, while 🇺🇬 Adriko Jimmy suffered a first-round RSC defeat at the hands of Kitangila Mweba of the DRC.
As the championships progress, Uganda currently has four boxers confirmed for the finals, with expectations high for further achievements. Fans and supporters eagerly await more exciting performances as the tournament continues.
