Uganda’s boxing fraternity is not only witnessing struggles in the professional ranks but also a bright new light rising from the youth. Nanyonjo Allen Hope Sseruyange, popularly known as Nahs12 “Smiling Girl the Yuth,” continues to make waves in amateur boxing, and her growing influence recently earned her a prestigious invitation as Chief Guest of Honour at the annual Parents–Sports Day of Little Dolphins International School, held last Saturday in Entebbe–Kitende.
Allen, daughter of Ugandan super featherweight boxer Connrad “KingKong” Sseruyange, has quickly become one of the most promising faces of Uganda’s amateur boxing scene. A student at Lamp Stand Academy in Masajja, where she also serves as Sports Prefect, Allen is studying on a bursary awarded in recognition of her boxing talent. She recently achieved one of her biggest milestones by defeating Namuli Peace in the Uganda Boxing Champions League Season 04, a victory that cemented her place as a rising force in the sport.
Speaking at the Sports Day event, Madam Mulungi Daphine, Director of Little Dolphins International School, explained why Allen was chosen to grace the occasion:
“We invited Allen to inspire our students. Her journey at such a young age shows that champions are made through discipline, dedication, and passion. By the time she left, many of our students were already eager to join the sport. We are now opening a boxing program at the school, and Allen will be part of it as a coach to inspire the children.”
For Allen, the moment was both humbling and memorable.
“This was my first time attending such an event as Chief Guest of Honour. I am grateful, and I encourage parents to support their children both in school and in their talents,” she said with her trademark smile.
Her father and coach, Connrad Sseruyange, expressed pride in her achievements, noting that her recognition at such platforms shows how far their shared dream has come:
“As a parent and coach, I am happy that schools and organizations now invite Allen to motivate young talent. It proves that we are on the right path, and the future is bright.”
Allen’s story is not just about medals and victories — it is about hope, discipline, and the power of youth to inspire. As she continues to grow in the sport, Nahs12 “Smiling Girl the Yuth” is proving that Uganda’s boxing future may yet be brighter than its present.
