Is Emmanuel Muwanguzi Okay? Alarming Look at the Scale Raises Questions

There was visible concern among boxing fans and supporters today at the official weigh-in for the Kampala Night Fight after Uganda’s super featherweight contender Emmanuel Muwanguzi appeared alarmingly thin and dehydrated when he stepped onto the scale.

Muwanguzi, who is known for his solid frame and knockout power, looked unusually drained — a condition that immediately sparked speculation about his health and fight readiness. Many observers noted that this was the first time the unbeaten boxer appeared in such a state before a bout.

The 9-0 (5 KOs) fighter, currently ranked 3rd out of 16 in Uganda and 241st of 2,079 worldwide, is set to face Saban Damba, a featherweight boxer with only one professional fight — a first-round knockout loss to Comein Ssembatya.

Despite the clear advantage in experience, power, and ranking, the sight of Muwanguzi’s diminished size raised questions about whether he may have been forced to make featherweight or if there’s another underlying reason for the drastic weight cut.

While team Muwanguzi has not yet issued an official statement, fans are anxiously waiting to see whether the star’s physical condition will affect his performance once the bell rings.

One thing remains certain — all eyes will be on Emmanuel “Emma” Muwanguzi tonight to see if his strength and composure can match the expectations of his impressive record.
