Breaking: Bob Turyatemba Could Face Russian Warrior Idris Adalaev This November!

There are strong reports emerging that Uganda’s undefeated welterweight sensation Bob Turyatemba could be on his way to Russia this November for a potential international bout against Russian boxer Idris Adalaev.

According to leaked information, talks are reportedly ongoing between both camps to finalize the details of the fight, which could take place later next month. If confirmed, this would mark Turyatemba’s first-ever bout outside the African continent—a major milestone in his rising professional career.

Turyatemba, who fights out of Sparks Boxing Academy under Inspired Brands Management, has steadily built a reputation as one of Uganda’s top welterweights. Known for his southpaw stance, sharp counterpunching, and calm ring composure, Bob currently boasts an impressive undefeated record of 13 wins (7 by knockout).

His most recent victory came on August 30, 2025, at the NCS Arena in Lugogo, Kampala, where he defeated Reagan Lossa Pacho via unanimous decision in 6 rounds. That win reaffirmed his dominance on home soil and extended his unbeaten streak, keeping his name among Uganda’s most consistent and disciplined professionals.

However, insiders hint that the proposed fight with Adalaev could be contested at super lightweight (63.5 kg)—a weight class below Bob’s natural welterweight category (66.7 kg). This potential weight cut has reportedly raised some concern within his team, as Adalaev has been consistently active in the lower division.

On the other hand, Russia’s Idris Adalaev brings solid credentials to the table. The orthodox fighter has 11 professional bouts, with 10 victories (5 by knockout) and only one loss, which came by unanimous decision against Gor Khachatryan in an 8-round contest. Adalaev is currently ranked 7th out of 42 in Russia and 106th worldwide, while Turyatemba holds the 3rd spot out of 21 in Uganda and sits 137th globally.

Adalaev’s only international experience came on February 15, 2025, when he traveled to Uzbekistan and defeated Shokhrukh Ashurov by third-round TKO at Samo Arena in Fergana.

If this bout gets finalized, it will pit Turyatemba’s southpaw style and 53.85% knockout rate against Adalaev’s orthodox stance and 50% knockout ratio. The fight would also be a classic welterweight-versus-super-lightweight matchup, with Bob likely stepping down a division to make the weight. Both boxers are known for their discipline and technical skills, which promises a highly tactical and exciting contest.

Should the fight materialize, it will mark a significant milestone for Bob Turyatemba, offering him a chance to expand his international profile and edge closer to the top 100 global rankings, while Idris Adalaev looks to strengthen his comeback story after his lone professional defeat.
